Almost lost everything
I loved, to self hate
Trying to escape
With substances to medicate
Problems coming me at hard
Through the floodgates
It allowed me to run
And failure to relate
To things that mattered the most like teammates
The greatest love of my life
Family and heart rates
I guess I was doing work
Through the shadow side
Instead of honoring the things
That made me come alive
But it was all in the practice
And coming back to balance
It isn't all about support
The other half is challenge
And now I am where I am
Coming to terms with it
Making peace with this
And following my bliss
I had few drinks
Trying to write this song
On the road to redemption
Trying to write my wrongs
Since everything is eternal
I do not believe in endings
And we can never get it wrong
So it's only the beginning

They will never ever love you
like your self does
Every action has a motive
There's no just because
Just study up
Cause the answers lie within
So a blow that comes across you
Can't effect an iron chin
Everything in my life
Got me prepped for this
It can only cross my path
If I could handle it

Owning my predicaments

Detached from any outcome

Sticking to my truth
Without the proof
Or need to see it
